REACT Premium Escape Rooms
Connecticut's Most Immersive School Field Trip

Where Groups Think Together, Move Together, and Solve Together
Looking for a field trip experience that students actually talk about for weeks? REACT Premium Escape Rooms in Windsor Locks offers school groups, summer camps, and educational programs a one-of-a-kind adventure that combines hands-on problem solving, collaborative thinking, and real-world skill building — all inside a cinematic, multi-room environment unlike anything in the region.
We've hosted hundreds of school groups and summer camps from across Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. Teachers tell us it's one of the only field trips where every single student is engaged from the first minute to the last.

Why Escape Rooms Work in an Educational Setting
Escape rooms aren't just entertainment — they're structured problem-solving experiences that mirror exactly the kind of thinking educators work hardest to develop.
At REACT, students must:
-
Observe and analyze their environment to identify clues and patterns
-
Communicate clearly with teammates to share findings and coordinate solutions
-
Think critically under time pressure, evaluating multiple possible approaches before acting
-
Collaborate across different strengths — students who struggle academically often shine in escape room environments, and vice versa
-
Persist through failure, adjust strategies, and try again when an approach doesn't work
These are not incidental skills. They are the core competencies of STEM education, 21st century learning frameworks, and social-emotional learning curricula.
STEM Connections
REACT's adventures are rich with STEM application opportunities. Across our five multi-room experiences, students encounter:
Science — Observation, hypothesis testing, cause-and-effect reasoning, and environmental analysis are built into every adventure. Students learn to look carefully, question assumptions, and draw conclusions from evidence.
Technology — Interactive mechanisms, electronic puzzles, and tech-integrated props require students to engage with and understand how systems work together. Students develop comfort with unfamiliar technology through exploration rather than instruction.
Engineering — Many puzzles require students to understand how physical components relate to each other — levers, sequences, spatial relationships, and mechanical systems all appear throughout our adventures.
Math — Pattern recognition, numerical sequences, logical deduction, and spatial reasoning are woven throughout REACT's puzzle design. Students apply mathematical thinking without it feeling like math class.
Beyond the four pillars, REACT adventures also develop creative thinking, lateral reasoning, and collaborative communication — skills that appear in virtually every educational framework from Common Core to Next Generation Science Standards.
A Natural Fit for Montessori Education
REACT's adventures align exceptionally well with Montessori educational philosophy. Our environments are designed around the same principles that guide Montessori classrooms:
Self-directed exploration — Students move through the environment at their own pace, choosing where to focus their attention and how to approach each challenge. There is no single "right path" through a REACT adventure.
Hands-on, tactile learning — Every puzzle involves physical interaction with the environment. Students touch, move, examine, and manipulate objects to discover solutions — learning by doing rather than by watching or listening.
Intrinsic motivation — The goal of escaping drives genuine engagement without external rewards or grades. Students are motivated by curiosity and the satisfaction of solving, not by performance pressure.
Multi-age collaboration — REACT works beautifully for mixed-age groups. Older students naturally take on leadership roles while younger students contribute observations and creative thinking. Every member of the group has something meaningful to offer.
Freedom within structure — Like a Montessori prepared environment, REACT's adventures have clear boundaries and objectives, but enormous freedom in how students choose to work toward them.
For Montessori schools planning field trips, REACT offers one of the rare out-of-classroom experiences that genuinely extends rather than interrupts the school's educational philosophy.
Group Pricing
School groups and summer camps receive special group pricing of $30 per person — significantly below standard admission rates. Groups of 50 or more also receive use of our private event space at no extra charge, giving you a dedicated area for lunches, debriefs, or gathering your group between adventures.
All group adventures are 100% private. Your students will never share the experience with outside groups. Each adventure accommodates different group sizes, and with multiple adventures running simultaneously, REACT can host large school groups across multiple rooms at once.
For groups larger than one adventure's capacity, we can stagger start times to keep the energy high and the experience seamless. We've hosted groups of 100+ students in a single visit.

What to Expect on Your Visit
Arrival — Pull right up to 1 Corporate Drive, Suite 102. We have ample free parking including space for buses. Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled start time.
Briefing — Our game masters will meet your group, explain the adventure, answer questions, and make sure every student knows what to expect before they enter.
The Adventure — 60 minutes of fully immersive, hands-on problem solving. Our game masters monitor each group throughout and can provide guidance if teams get stuck, ensuring every group has a satisfying experience.
Debrief — After the adventure, take a few minutes to discuss what worked, what didn't, and what students learned. Many teachers tell us the post-adventure conversation is one of the richest discussions of their school year.
Frequently Asked Questions
What age groups is REACT appropriate for?
REACT is an all-ages experience with no strict age minimum. Adventures are designed primarily for older kids and adults, but we've hosted groups from elementary school through high school with great results. For younger elementary groups, Jurassic Jungle is our most accessible adventure and an ideal starting point.
How many students can participate at once?
Each adventure accommodates different group sizes. With multiple adventures running simultaneously, we can host 60+ students at one time. For very large groups, we work with schools to stagger arrival times and keep the experience running smoothly.
Is there a minimum group size?
Please call us at (860) 370-5415 to discuss your group's specific needs. We're happy to work with groups of varying sizes and find the best solution.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend booking at least 4-6 weeks in advance for school and camp groups, especially for spring and end-of-year trips when demand is highest. Call (860) 370-5415 to check availability and reserve your date.
Can we bring chaperones?
Absolutely. Chaperones are welcome to participate in the adventure alongside students. We find that mixed groups of students and adults often produce the best teamwork and the most memorable experiences.
